On June 22, a memorable date is celebrated in the Russian Federation – the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow – the day of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
On this day, the peoples of Russia mourn for their compatriots who became victims of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and defended their Fatherland at the cost of their lives. National flags are lowered at half-mast throughout the country, and in cultural institutions, on television and radio
Entertainment events and broadcasts are cancelled throughout the day. One of the key thematic projects of the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow is the All–Russian action "Candle of Memory" (hereinafter - the Action).
The "Candle of Memory" campaign will be held in an online format, which will allow a large number of citizens to join the national Day of Remembrance and Mourning by lighting virtual candles on the Day of Remembrance website.the Russian Federation in memory of the dead. The campaign will be held until June 22 on the territory of all subjects of the Russian Federation.
The socially significant result of the Campaign will be targeted assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War. As the operator of the campaign, the MEMORY OF GENERATIONS Charitable Foundation will allocate an amount of money equal to the number of candles lit to provide specialized medical care to veterans.
