Electrical stimulation

Electrical stimulation is the effect of pulsed currents on nerves and muscles in order to excite them or enhance the activity of certain organs and systems. The range of its appointments is very wide, but this procedure also has contraindications.

Indications for use

The electrostimulation procedure increases the contractility of muscles and improves their blood supply. Myostimulation is used for the treatment and prevention of various diseases. This method of exposure is actively used in the following diseases and conditions:

  • laryngeal muscle paresis;
  • decreased muscle and skin tone;
  • excess weight;
  • scoliosis, hip dysplasia.

In some cases, electrical stimulation is not possible.

Contraindications

  • violation of skin sensitivity;
  • purulent skin lesions;
  • violation of the integrity of the skin in the area of manipulation;
  • contracture of facial muscles;
  • tendency to bleed (except uterine bleeding with dysfunction);
  • the presence of an intrauterine device;
  • pregnancy (but it is used for weak labor activity);
  • blood pathologies;
  • liver and kidney failure;
  • decompensation of chronic pathologies;
  • acute diseases;
  • thrombophlebitis;
  • oncology, neoplasms in the field of exposure;
  • the presence of metal elements in the area of the procedure and pacemaker;
  • bone fractures before immobilization;
  • dislocations of joints before reduction;
  • 3-4 weeks from the moment of ONMC;
  • cholelithiasis;
  • increased electrical excitability of muscles;
  • epilepsy;
  • individual intolerance;
  • carrying out the procedure in the area of the postoperative scar up to 10 months after surgery.
