Pressotherapy

Modern medicine successfully uses pressotherapy — hardware massage, which is called compression or pneumatic.

Indications for use

  • cellulite;
  • obesity;
  • swelling of the legs;
  • with varicose veins;
  • with heaviness in the legs;
  • with a sedentary lifestyle;
  • to strengthen blood vessels;
  • with diabetes;
  • thrombosis;
  • gout and arthritis;
  • disorders of intestinal metabolism;
  • under stress.

Lymphatic drainage massage is prescribed in the amount of 15 procedures several times a week. The duration of the procedure is up to 45 minutes. If the massage is carried out for preventive purposes, doctors recommend doing it for 1 procedure every 2 weeks. Although pressotherapy is popular, contraindications do not allow everyone to use it.

Contraindications

Contraindications are based on the fact that this procedure removes excess fluid from the space between the cells. And this is done by squeezing parts of the body with compressed air. The list of contraindications looks like this:

  • Cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. The pressure that rises during the session aggravates the situation.
  • Liver, kidney and digestive tract diseases. The pressure exerted on these organs during the session can aggravate the situation.
  • Increased blood viscosity or poor blood clotting. Inflammation of blood vessels in any part of the body. In these cases, there is a risk of a blood clot.
  • Contraindications are inflammatory processes and ulcers in places that will be subjected to compression.
  • Any tumors can activate their growth after applying compression massage. In the presence of neoplasms, the procedure is not prescribed.
  • With diabetes mellitus, only a specialist can say what will give pressotherapy – benefit or harm.
  • Massage can activate thyroid disease.
  • The procedure is not prescribed to women on critical days, as it can increase bleeding.
  • Pregnant women for more than 4 months and nursing mothers should wait until the pressotherapy.

These are the main contraindications for compression massage. If you have at least one of the reasons listed above to refuse pressotherapy, it is better to do it.
